In addition to providing residential accommodation, we also offer the following services: Energy Performance Certificates From 4th January 2009 every domestic property that is to be rented or sold requires an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). Owners of buildings who fail to make an EPC available may be served with a penalty charge notice. If the building in question is a domestic building, or is ancillary to a domestic building, the penalty is £500. An EPC is a document which states the energy efficiency of a building. The certificate is rated with bandings from A to G (A being the best rating), much like a white-goods appliance in your home. The certificate provides recommended cost-effective improvements. The EPC must be attached to the building and will be valid for a period of ten years. We are fully trained and accredited, and can provide EPCs for other private landlords, in addition to housing associations and agencies. Portable Appliance Testing Every landlord has a duty of care to ensure the safety of all portable appliances supplied as part of a let. Such appliances include - but are not limited to - microwaves, lamps, washing machines, 'plug-in' cookers (as opposed to hard-wired), kettles, toasters, irons, televisions and extension cords. We are fully trained to provide these tests and can offer competitive rates to other private landlords, in addition to housing associations and agencies.
